To ensure a positive and safe learning environment, we use a school-wide, common language that establishes consistent daily expectations. Students will be taught the school's four core values: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Honest, Be Safe.
To Show Respect Means
You think good things about who a person is or how he/she acts. You can have respect for others, and you can have respect for yourself.
Showing respect to someone means you act in a way that shows you care about their feelings and well-being.
Showing respect for others include things like not calling people mean names, treating people with courtesy, caring enough about yourself that you don't do things you know can hurt you.
To Be Responsible Means
Doing the things we are supposed to do, and accepting the positive or negative outcome of our actions.
To Be Honest Means
Speak and act truthfully.
Examples of what speaking the honest truth means:
Honesty means you don't say things about people that aren't true.
Being honest means you admit to your actions, even if you'll get in trouble.
Honesty means you explain how a situation really happened.
To Be Safe Means
Protection from violence, exposure to weapons and threats, theft, bullying, and the sale or use of illegal substances on school grounds.
