  • Athletic registration is located in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. The secure registration platform provides you with an easy, user-friendly way to register for our programs, and helps us to be more administratively efficient and environmentally responsible. If you need assistance with the PowerSchool Parent Portal, please call the school office at 860 537 2313.

    • Attendance at each of the Interscholastic Sports try-out dates is mandatory
    • Current physical exam dated within the past 13 months and signed by the physician (If the student’s physical expires during the season, they will not be able to play until a new physical exam is received)  
    • State of Connecticut Dept of Ed Health Assessment Record (the "Blue Form")

Register

  1. Log into the PowerSchool Public Portal
  2. Select the athletic team registration form
  3. "Save" your information as you go (if you need to step away and complete your registration at a later time)
  4. "Submit" your registration

Pay to Play information

  • A fee of $180.00 will be due for student-athletes to participate in Interscholastic Sports (Soccer, Basketball or Track) with a maximum of $540.00 per family per school year.
  • The Pay-to-Play form and fee is requested after registration once student-athletes are placed on a WJJMS Interscholastic Sports team. At that time, a parent/guardian must sign and return the form to the office by a specified date (determined by the Athletic Director). The due date will be noted on the form.
  • Checks for Interscholastic Sports (Soccer, Basketball and/or Track) are to be made payable to the “Town of Colchester.”

Three Seasons of Sports Programs

    • Interscholastic Soccer

    Interscholastic Soccer begins in September and will run through the end of October.  Interscholastic Soccer is a program that gives student athletes the opportunity to travel to play soccer against other school teams after school.

    • Club Cross Country

    Club Cross Country begins in September and runs through early November. Club Cross Country is part of the Midstate Middle School League, a program that gives student-athletes the opportunity to travel to compete against other school teams after school. As Cross Country is a Club (not an Interscholastic Sport) the fee to participate does not qualify for the family maximum for Interscholastic Sports.

    There is a fee payable to "WJJMS" (for families with more than one Club Cross Country student-athlete, a discounted fee is available).

    A Club Cross Country Registration packet is required prior to participation (no online registration is available for Club Cross Country).

    • Interscholastic Basketball

    Interscholastic Basketball begins in early November and runs through the end of January. Interscholastic Basketball is a program that gives student athletes the opportunity to travel to play against other school teams after school.

    Transportation Waiver and Release form
    This form must be used when declining school transportation for your student-athlete.

    Permission Form to Watch WJJMS Basketball Game
    This form must be used when a student wishes to watch an interscholastic basketball game, or go home and return to watch. The form should be turned into the office for the site supervisor the morning of the game.

    • Intramural Basketball

    Intramural Basketball begins in February and runs through the end of mid-March. Intramural Basketball is an after-school program that gives student athletes the opportunity to sharpen their skills and play with their classmates. 

    There is a fee per student-athlete that is due prior to participation, payable to "WJJMS Athletics."

    A permission form is required prior to participation.

    • Interscholastic Track

    Interscholastic Track begins mid-March and runs through the end of May, culminating with the Middle School State Championship held in Manchester, CT.

  • Scheduled games/meets are listed on the WJJMS Events Calendar, in the PowerSchool Bulletin option of the PowerSchool Public Portal, and shared in ParentSquare
  • Schedules are handed to student athletes
  • Schedules are subject to change due to weather and/or unforeseen circumstances
  • Please follow the information that was given to your student-athlete at their most recent practice or call our office at 860 537 2313 if you need assistance
  • Upon an unexpected cancelation, students are notified prior to 1:15 pm. to inform their parents/guardians (you may wish to discuss protocol with your student-athlete in the event of a cancelation)
